Anishte is a place of great cultural and historical importance. Remains of a destroyed ancient settlement were found here: a building of four rooms and, 300 m from it, a second group laid out in the same way.
Many fragments of pottery, coins of the 3rd century and jewellery have been found.
It is thought to be a roadside station on the road from Ratiaria to Naissus (today Niš), built and used by the Romans in the 2nd and 3rd centuries and probably destroyed in the barbarian invasions at the end of the 3rd and the beginning of the 4th century.
An asphalt road leads to Anishte.
